About Me
Hey there, thanks for stopping by! I’m Priscilla Asonibare, a nerdy girl who’s always had a big love for all things artistic since I can remember! I’ve worked as a digital marketing and communications manager over the last 5 years, an experience I’ve greatly enjoyed, allowing me to learn so much as a professional and positioning me to be able to launch this platform.
My Story
Growing up, I always thought I would be the next Pablo Picasso or Frida Kahlo. I loved to paint, draw and create things with my hands. But that dream was quickly thwarted when I learnt the harsh reality – being an artist in Nigeria can be hard and un-lucrative for many. I knew then that I wanted to be able to do something to change that narrative.
3 years ago, after starting a blog (legacy) where I profiled creatives across Nigeria to understand their story and what inspires them, I got an idea to create an online platform that will help support these amazing talents in selling their pieces of art/craft so that their efforts are not in vain and so that they can focus on what they know to do best – create art. And for me, this was very personal because it’s the main reason I didn’t follow through with my dream of studying art and becoming a visual artist…the lack of a support system to actually succeed as an artist.
And so here we are now! I’m hopeful that this platform will add value to the lives of creatives across Nigeria and allow those coming behind to know that they can choose a career as an artist, make a sustainable income and live comfortably!
