Description
My Subject, Valerie speaks of living in a judgemental world where everyone thinks very highly of themselves. Thinking of themselves as the perfect example of how everyone else should live their lives oblivious of their own flaws hence the poetic rendition of how she feels about the shadows in her mirror:
Shadows in the mirror
Telling me what to do.
When the mirror stares back
I can’t help but stare back too.
It’s not about the shadows themselves,
It’s about the way they look at me
Your gaze, my life.
My life, your spectacle.
