Selling FAQs
What is Creatives Auction and how does it work?
Creatives Auction is a first-of-its-kind online auction platform created by an African for Creatives in Africa. The idea behind it is to share African Arts, Crafts and Fashion with the world while keeping the spotlight on the Creative behind each work, giving them the opportunity to shine while making money from their creations.
For sellers, you have a robust dashboard to help you stay on top of everything from getting notified when there’s a bid on your work/when someone places an order, to keeping track of your earnings and requesting payments. To begin selling on Creatives Auction, you can sign up here. Your application will be reviewed and you will receive a follow-up email from us should you meet our criteria.
What criteria do I have to meet to become a seller on Creatives Auction?
- Work being sold has to be hand-signed and owned by you. (This mainly applies to paintings)
- You need to have an online portfolio (a website or social media page) that we can review to see more of your work and ensure it is of good quality and is authentic.
- You need to be able to check your emails and dashboard often to stay on top of enquiries/order fulfilment.
How many works can I list for sale on the platform
For now, we are allowing Creatives to list up to 4 works for free on the platform. We will review the numbers as we scale the business.
How will I know when someone bids on my work?
You will be notified by email and can also view all auction activity from your Creatives’s Dashboard.
Can I just name any price for my work?
You should be very realistic in pricing your work. Do not price outrageously as you will only make it that much harder for your work to get sold. We also provide advice on appropriate prices for works based on the Creative’s work history, exhibitions attended, work previously sold, etc.
If I have questions or encounter challenges, who do I contact?
If you need support, you can contact us preferably via email at support@creativesauction.com. Or alternatively, you can send us a direct message through Instagram and we would be sure to help you out.
