Bolu’s Biography
Bolu Ezra Ikuemonisan, ‘Kubols’ as he is popularly called, is an emerging artist best known for eclectic hyperrealistic drawings that carry a message enshrined in metaphorical symbolism of humans with regard to social interaction. Charcoal on paper is his primary medium for expression.
The striking thing about his creative expressions is that every viewer can relate to the stories he tells through them. Babajide Olatunji, a hyper-realistic artist from Nigeria, has been one of the major influences on Bolu’s artistic expression, especially in the area of storytelling through art.
Bolu Ikuemonisan emerged as the winner of the TANA art competition in 2017 and was part of the Top 100 Artists of the year by FARABALE ART Magazine in 2017. He also showcased his work at the Ake Festival Review 2019 and has participated in International exhibitions in Johannesburg, and India. He is based in Lagos State, where he creates more drawings to tell stories about the successes and challenges of Man.
