Olúbùnmi’s Biography

Olúbùnmi Atẹ́rẹ́ (b. 1991) is a ceramicist from Ondo state, Nigeria.She studied Adult Education and practiced as a communications professional for 6 years before she gave in to her love for art.

In April 2022, she debuted as a ceramicist – utilizing carvings, patterns and lyrical marks on her works to comment on self, experiences and societal values as they affect individual and collective consciousness.

She has since been exploring the versatility of clay as a tool of communication and a witness to being. She bagged the Dr Pius Okigbo prize for Technical Proficiency at LIMCAF 2022.

Olúbùnmi’s carved pieces have been shown in galleries in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States. She currently works from her studio in Lagos, Nigeria.
