Description
Hibiscus is named the most feminine flower in the world. For North Americans, the hibiscus is a symbol of an extraordinary wife or woman in life, also known as “a perfect wife or woman” or “Rose of Sharon”. While in China, the hibiscus is a flower that symbolizes the beauty of fame or personal glory and in Malaysia it represents unity.
Hibiscus flowers are believed to repel negativity and the evil eye. The Hibiscus flower symbolizes women’s superpower in so many ways. The main aim of this project is to empower and uplift Black women as it relates to socio-economic, and personal development conversations. I want to create a movement of work – building community, celebrating resiliency and strengthening social connections of Black women. I aim to challenge and disrupt common narratives and enable new perspectives on identity and social location while creating opportunities for women to find freedom while embracing creativity.
