In the last week of April 2022, The Nigerian-German Centre (GIZ) in collaboration with Nike Art Gallery organised the MADE IN NIGERIA ART COMPETITION AND MASTER CLASS in Painting, Photography and Digital Art Marketing that was targeted at empowering Creatives in Nigeria with skills to attain success in their various crafts. The event lasted for 2 weeks with 30 artists from across the country in attendance and a lineup of expert speakers and tutors in various relevant fields.

We were honoured for the opportunity to be among the speakers where we shared about the Creatives Auction platform and the value it brings to Creatives across Africa. Our Founder, Priscilla Asonibare, led the session and shared her back story that led to the vision for the marketplace which many of the artists could relate to. She also shared with the artists some key tips on how to better brand themselves digitally and leverage low hanging fruits such as cross-collaboration with other Creatives to market their work and get in front of new buyers/collectors.

We also attended the final event of the 2-week long program which was an exhibition by the 30 artists who were participants in the masterclass. This was held at Nigeria’s first digital museum, Discovery Museum, Abuja. They exhibited works themed around “Jobs, Migration & Re-integration” which they created over the event period.
The turnout was massive and many of the artists were able to sell their work on Day 1 of the exhibition.

We are so thankful for the opportunity we were given to participate in this event and look forward to being a part of more events like this that are focused on adding value to Creatives across Africa!
