GRANTS 

Innovate Artists Grant Summer 2023

Innovate Grant awards (2) $1,800.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. In addition, (6) honorable mentions (3 in art and 3 in photo), will be featured on our website and join a growing community of vibrant and talented artists.

Innovate Grant’s commitment extends beyond the grant cycle by promoting the work of selected winners and honorable mentions into the future.

Amount:(2) $1,800

Deadline: September 14, 2023

Pollock Krasner Foundation

The Pollock Krasner Foundation provides financial resources for visual artists to create new work, acquire supplies, rent studio space, prepare for exhibitions, attend a residency and offset living expenses. 

Amount:  Amounts range up to $30,000

Eligibility: Visual artists who are painters, sculptors and artists who work on paper, including printmakers.

The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant

The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant is one of the most prestigious grants available to emerging representational artists, as well as one of the most substantial. 

Amount: 1st grants: CAD $17,000; Subsequent grants:  CAD $20,000

The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant

The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation.

Each grant is given as one-time assistance for a specific emergency, examples of which are fire, flood, or emergency medical need.

Amount:$5,000 typically granted; $15,000 max

OPEN CALLS

Foundwork Artist Prize

The Foundwork Artist Prize is an annual juried award that we started in 2019 to recognize outstanding emerging and mid-career artists working in any media.

Honorees receive unrestricted $10,000 grants and studio visits with our jurors who include distinguished curators, gallerists, and artists.

Honorees and shortlisted artists are also invited for interviews as part of our Dialogues program to further public engagement with their practices.

The Prize is open to artists residing anywhere in the world with limited exceptions, and our annual selection process takes place each fall

Prize: $10,000 in unrestricted grants

BigCi Environmental Awards 2023

Australian and International artists from various fields – visual art, installation, multimedia, performance, literature, music, photography, film making, curating – are invited to submit entries for the BigCi Environmental Awards 2023.

Two Winners of the Awards will each receive (4) free weeks of BigCi residency and $4,000 prize money.

The winning artists will have an opportunity to explore the Wollemi, the Blue Mountains and the Gardens of Stone National Parks on guided walks and will be given research assistance relevant to their projects. At the end of their residencies, they will present their work at a BigCi Open Day event.

Award: (2) Free weeks of BigCi residency and $4,000

LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize

The LOEWE FOUNDATION launches the seventh edition of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, an international award celebrating excellence in craftsmanship.

The LOEWE FOUNDATION seeks to recognize uniquely talented artisans whose artistic vision and will to innovate set new standards for the future of craft.

The prize for the winning entry is 50,000 euros. The shortlisted and winning works will feature in the exhibition and accompanying catalogue in Paris in spring 2024.

Award: €50,000

FELLOWSHIPS & RESIDENCIES

MacDowell Fellowship

About 300 artists in seven disciplines are awarded Fellowships each year and the sole criterion for acceptance is artistic excellence. There are no residency fees, and need-based stipends and travel reimbursement grants are available to open the residency to the broadest possible community of artists.

MacDowell encourages applications from artists of all backgrounds and all countries in the following disciplines: architecture, film/video arts, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theatre, and visual arts.

Any applicant whose proposed project does not fall clearly within one of these artistic disciplines should contact the admissions department for guidance. We aim to be inclusive, not exclusive in our admissions process.

Princeton Arts Fellowship

Princeton Arts Fellowships, funded in part by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, David E. Kelley Society of Fellows in the Arts, and the Maurice R. Greenberg Scholarship Fund, will be awarded to artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching.

Applicants should be early career visual artists, filmmakers, poets, novelists, playwrights, designers, directors and performance artists—this list is not meant to be exhaustive—who would find it beneficial to spend two years teaching and working in an artistically vibrant university community.

Stipends: $90,000/year

DRY TORTUGAS NATIONAL PARK
Artist in Residence Program

The National Parks Arts Foundation invites applications for the Dry Tortugas National Park artist-in-residence program.

The residency is open to all artists, including writers, musicians, or performance artists, and will be held from March 1, 2024 through March 31, 2024. Artists will receive a stipend of $4,000 and housing. A seaplane or boat is provided for the artist’s initial arrival and event transportation. Artists must pack in all supplies, equipment, and food.

2024 EYEBEAM FELLOWSHIP

The Democracy Machine program is a digital-first fellowship by Eyebeam. They seek artists to explore the creative potentials of technologies that support and enhance the best of human intelligence and imagination.

In particular, they are interested in supporting those artists whose efforts consider the impact of technology on individuals and communities who face additional barriers to access and inclusion.

This program is being run virtually, with the option for in-person gatherings. Eyebeam will select five non-New York-based artists from anywhere in the world and five NYC-based artists for this fellowship.

International applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply, and you are not required to live or work in the US during this grant period.

Selected artists participating in this six-month program will receive a $20,000 stipend and work in fellowship to support the development and implementation of their projects.
